According to the Centre for Economics and Business Research, the average UK SME entrepreneur is worth an impressive £130,000 to the UK economy. Some additional key findings within the research include:
- At 52%, SME’s are putting in a very good shift in contributing to gross value added (GVA) to the UK economy.
- The number of small businesses over the last decade has risen by 35%, underpinning the stated desire for the current coalition government to provide an SME friendly business environment.
- An extra 300,000 SME’s will need to start chugging away within the economy for the UK to return to the levels of economic health it enjoyed pre-financial crisis days.
